What Is Divorce Coaching?

Guidance and support during a complicated process.

Divorce can involve emotional, financial, parenting and legal issues all at the same time. You’re often expected to make important decisions while you’re also dealing with uncertainty, stress and significant changes in your family and everyday life.

As your divorce coach, I help you separate the emotional from the practical so you can get organized, prepare for meetings and conversations, think through decisions and focus your time and energy on what matters most.

I can also connect you with trusted resources and professionals when you need additional support.

I’m not a substitute for your attorney, financial professional or therapist. Instead, I help you prepare for meetings and make more effective use of your time with these and other professionals.

LIFE TRANSITION COACHING

When life changes, your priorities may change too.

Grief, retirement, career changes, caregiving, an empty nest and other major transitions can leave you questioning what you want, what matters now and how you want your life to look.

Coaching gives you time and space to explore those questions, consider new possibilities and create meaningful goals for this season of your life.

LIFE TRANSITION COACHING

WHY CATHOLIC COACHING

Your faith can be an important source of guidance when the path forward isn’t clear.

Catholic teaching offers wisdom and guidance for every part of our lives. It helps us face suffering and change, make difficult decisions, care for the people we love and approach the future with faith and hope. And it reminds us that God remains present and at work in our lives, even when the path ahead isn’t clear.

I bring this Catholic perspective to my coaching, helping you explore your options, consider what matters most and discern where God may be leading you.

FAQs

What is the difference between coaching and counseling?

Counseling often addresses past experiences, emotional healing and mental health concerns. Coaching focuses primarily on where you are now, what you want to change or accomplish, and the steps that will get you there.

Do you coach women who aren’t Catholic?

Yes. All women are welcome. My coaching is informed by Catholic teaching, but you do not need to be Catholic to work with me.

Can divorce coaching save me money?

It can. Being organized, prepared and focused can help you make more effective use of meetings with attorneys, mediators, financial professionals and others involved in your divorce. Coaching can help you prepare questions, gather information and identify priorities beforehand, which can save valuable time, energy and money.

Is coaching confidential?

Yes. Coaching conversations are kept confidential except when disclosure is required by law.

Do you accept insurance?

No. Coaching is not covered by health insurance.

Can coaching help if my divorce is already final?

Yes. Some of the biggest adjustments can come after the legal process ends. Coaching can help you create new routines, think through work decisions and consider retirement and other changes ahead. We can also focus on strengthening relationships, rebuilding confidence and creating a life of joy.

Do you meet virtually?

Yes. All coaching sessions are held virtually by Zoom or phone.
